Don’t forget the “Artist Talk on Art” with nature photographer Paul Biron, Friday, Sept. 21, from 5:30 to 7 pm, at 600 Main Street, on ground floor. Admission is $5.00 and members are free.

Artist in Residence program events

Our first-ever artist in residence, British photographer Zoe Childerley, has arrived and will be taking portraits of community members in her studio in the 600 Main Street Gallery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays noon – 4 pm. Come be a part of her project, “Where’s Walsenburg?”

June 22, Friday, 5:30 to 7pm -“Artists Talk on Art” Series.
Zoe Childerley, will show images of her work with discussion following.

July 5, Thursday, 5:30 to 7pm – Photography Workshop
“How to take a good photo” with Zoe and contribute your images to the Where’s Walsenburg community Program.

July 20, Friday, 5:30 to 7pm – “Artists Talk on Art” Series.
An overview of the images created during Zoe’s artist-in-residence program “Where’s Walsenburg” and participants’ images from the workshop.

August 24, Friday, 6pm to 8pm – EXHIBITION OPENING, Where’s Walsenburg? The images of Zoe Childerley with an exhibition of “Portraits from the Heart” by Eudora Welty

Showing August 14 through October 30, three distinctive artists share their vision as the museum inaugurates its fabulous new gallery space.

On display in the new first-floor space are the large paintings of Brendt Berger and sculptures by Linda Fleming.

In the more intimate setting of the second floor gallery, Peggy Zehring displays a series of her recent mixedmedia works.

A Day in Walsenburg with Eddie

New Mexico ceramic artist Eddie Dominquez is captured in a 50-minute film by renowned artist and film maker Ken Schneider, which will be shown one night only at the Fox Theater in Walsenburg on July 22 at 5:30 pm. Admission is free. The film, “A Day in Walsenburg with Eddie,” chronicles Dominguez on a walking tour of his artwork, which is presently on display at both the Museum of Friends and the Huerfano County Courthouse.  The exhibition(s) remain on view through July 31st.  For more information, please call MOF at 719-738-2858 or visit our website at www.museumoffriends.orgThe Museum of Friends is a 501 C-3 educational facility.
