MoF Hosts Annual Marketplace of Ideas: Celebrating Creativity, Community & Small Business Saturday

WALSENBURG, CO — The Museum of Friends (MoF) invites the community to celebrate the season of creativity and connection at its 13th Annual Marketplace of Ideas & Made in Walsenburg Holiday Market, happening on Saturday, November 29 (Small Business Saturday) and Saturday, December 6, from 10 AM to 4 PM at 600 Main Street, Walsenburg.
This cherished local tradition celebrates art, entrepreneurship, and community spirit. offering visitors a chance to shop one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts from regional artists, makers, and small businesses. Every purchase supports local creativity while strengthening the Museum of Friends’ mission to use art as a tool for creative placemaking, community well-being, and economic vitality.
“The Marketplace of Ideas began in 2012 as an experiment in community collaboration,” said Maria Cocchiarelli-Berger, Executive Director of the Museum of Friends. “Over a decade later, it’s become a cornerstone of Walsenburg’s cultural identity — showing how art and small business can come together to revitalize our rural community and keep Main Street thriving.”
Visitors can enjoy music, a festive atmosphere, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus — the perfect opportunity for a family photo and a dose of holiday cheer.

Every purchase made at the Marketplace or the Made in Walsenburg Shop directly supports local artists and helps sustain MoF’s exhibitions, education programs, and community-building initiatives throughout the year.
