About the event

Stillness, Seeing, and Story: A Mindful Looking Experience

Suggested Donation $8 | Ages 15+ | All materials provided

Join us for a contemplative workshop that invites you to slow down and engage with art through a practice of mindful observation. Stillness, Seeing, and Story offers a quiet, guided experience centered around one or two selected works in the exhibition Beavers of the Huerfano by Brendt Berger. Through breathwork, gentle prompts, and shared reflection, we’ll explore what it means to “look as listen”—to allow visual art to speak not just to our eyes, but to our attention, memory, and emotion.

*Unlike an artist talk or traditional tour, this workshop focuses not on interpretation but on presence. You’ll be guided to observe, sense, and reflect—drawing insight from your own inner response rather than the artist’s biography. The session may include optional journaling or abstract mark-making as a way to quietly integrate what you experienced.
