The
Collection:
Fellow artists gave the works on
view as unselfconscious acts over many years. MOF plans to open
our exhibition space on a regular basis with the intention of
giving back to the community what was freely given in the spirit
of friendship. Nearly every painting, print, drawing, and sculpture
in MOF represents a gesture that resonates meaning to the founders
of this collection – the impetus for their goal of going
public.
With the establishment of MOF therein lies the opportunity for
more organizations of this type to be established. Housed within
the facility is an educational resource library that includes:
art theory, practice, education, and k-12 student materials.
The Pacific Rooms, which are part of the main exhibition area,
are devoted to the display of objects related to Brendt Berger’s
Hawaiian ancestry and those collected from the Pacific Rim.
